1. Game Overview and Goal

Chain Solitaire (Strategic Matching) is a unique single-player card game where your goal is to capture all 52 Links (cards) from the deck.

The game is played by drawing Links from the Barracks (the face-down deck) to form an Active Chain.

How to Capture Links (Chain Reaction)

A capture—or a "Chain Reaction"—occurs when you find two Links of the same rank (e.g., two Aces, two Sevens, or two Kings) that have been placed in the Active Chain with no more than three other Links between them.

• Valid Match Window: The two matching Links must be within the last four Links placed on the Active Chain.
• The Capture: When you click the two matching Links, they (and all Links positioned between them) are removed and added to your Captured Pile.
• Replenishment: After a successful capture, the Active Chain automatically draws new Links from the Barracks until it has four Links again, if available.

Game End Conditions

1. VICTORY: You win the game if you successfully capture all 52 Links.
2. DEFEAT: The game ends if the Barracks is empty, and you cannot make a final match, and you have run out of Redeals (based on the chosen difficulty).

2. Installation and Running the Game

Chain Solitaire is distributed as a single, self-contained HTML file. It does not require a traditional installation process, but must be run from your computer's local file system.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step	Action	Description
1. Download	Locate the file Chain_Solitaire_Game_vX.X.html attached to your purchase email.	Save the file to a clear, easy-to-find location, such as your Desktop or a dedicated Games folder.
2. Run	Double-click the saved .html file.	The game will automatically open in your default web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari, etc.).
3. Play	Click the START GAME button.	The deck will shuffle, the timer will start, and the game will begin!

Important Note on Usability

The game is designed with a floating action bar at the bottom of the screen. This ensures that the primary actions (Draw Next Link, Back, Give Up) are always accessible on both desktop and mobile devices, even when the Active Chain is long and requires scrolling.

3. Data Persistence (Cloud Saving)

Your scores are saved automatically to the cloud!

This game uses a secure, cloud-based database (Firestore) to track your permanent statistics.

• No Manual Saving: You never need to save your game manually. All scores, best times, times played, and abandons are updated in real-time.
• Data Integrity: If you purchase an updated version of the game file (e.g., going from v2.0 to v3.0), you can safely delete the old file and run the new one. All your existing scores will load automatically.
